In my last article I wrote about how you can literally recharge your batteries when you are in nature. This time I would like to present some ideas about making the most of your garden, so it produces food with healing properties, specially tailored for you.
Some time last year I stumbled upon the book series “The Ringing Cedars of Russia”. It has greatly developed my understanding of how the world ended up in this mess and what we can do to change it for the better. And one of the most important things is gardening!
The difference to our usual perception of gardening lies mainly in our mindset, how we connect with the plants and the space and that the aim is to create a paradise on Earth. We can transform the ecology of the entire earth bit by bit!

Here are some ways how we can create a deep contact with the plants we are growing, so they can produce fruit that contains nutrients specifically tailored to our state of health.
- Generally don’t dig up the soil, just loosen it, then mulch, so the rain doesn’t hit the soil and wash it away. Digging destroys the soil structures that have been created by the roots of the plants.
- Vegetables should grow between flowers and grasses, not separately in their own beds. Leave one or two of each weed in the proximity of vegetable plants. You can trim the weeds, so they don’t get out of hand. Weeds will protect your plants from diseases and give them additional information.
- The best is growing your own seedlings from organic seed. Here are some ways how you can imprint the plant with your energy and state of health so it can produce the exact combination of nutrients to optimally improve your health.
- Put the seeds in your mouth for 9 minutes.
- Then hold them between your palms, while standing barefoot at the spot where you are going to plant them.
- Open your palms and gently breathe on the seeds. Like this they are warmed and they ‘recognise’ what is in you.
- Then hold the seeds in your open palms for 30 seconds before putting them in the soil.
- Dig the hole with your fingers or toes, don’t use any tools.
- Spit in the hole before planting the seeds.
- Don’t water them for 3 days, so the information you gave the seeds doesn’t get washed away.
- Make sure to regularly touch the plants, walk past them barefoot, stay in contact with them.
There are so many ways of growing a garden, but it can’t hurt to add some mindful attention into the mix for some new perceptions and outcomes!
